SDUFEX Presentation by Marty Snyderman

About the Event

Honored with the 2018 NOGI Award in the Arts by the Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences, an EMMY Award for cinematography, a Reaching Out Award in 2008 as a photographer presented by the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association’s (DEMA), Marty Snyderman is a widely published still photographer and author who has worked to conserve and share the magic of the undersea world for more than four decades.

As you surely know, many underwater image-makers have been out of the water for extended periods of time during the current pandemic. For some, the dry period has been the longest of their diving lives. As with any endeavor that requires skill, when we don’t dive, our image-making skills get rusty.

In his presentation, Marty will use some of the tips from a new eBook, 101 Tips for Underwater Photographers, as a jumping off point to help refresh your memory to help you prevent making costly mistakes and maximize your upcoming filming opportunities. Marty produced the eBook with his partner at WiseDivers.com, Eric Riesch. 101 Tips for Underwater Photographers is their first book. Four more eBooks are already in their pipeline.

While 101 Tips for Underwater Photographers was written with still photographers in mind, there is a lot of overlap between underwater still photography and videography. Marty worked as an underwater cinematographer and film producer for two decades and will be able to offer information that applies to both audiences.
